Kaupapa Ako of the Piripono Curriculum:

Matariki 

Understanding the significance of Matariki to Māori, including its role in marking the Māori new year, reflection, renewal, and environmental awareness.

Rā Mokopuna

A dedicated day for mokopuna to learn and practice manaakitanga and tiakitanga, nurturing relationships, service to others, and collective responsibility.

Kiingitanga

Learning about and participating in the Kiingitanga celebrations, fostering pride in Māori identity and acknowledging the enduring legacy of the Kīngitanga.

Kapa Haka

An essential cultural expression where students feel, embody, and learn the essence of Māori culture through waiata, haka, and performance.

Mau Rākau

Developing physical discipline, respect, and self-control. Used as a proactive behaviour and engagement strategy grounded in tikanga Māori.

Water Safety

Teaching students awareness and practical skills in and around water, promoting confidence and knowledge essential for life in Aotearoa.

Financial Literacy

Introducing students to the fundamentals of money, budgeting, and financial responsibility, empowering them with practical life skills.
